Porsche has added a new bodystyle to its Panamera range - revealing the more spacious Sport Turismo. The new model is based on the sports saloon, yet is more versatile with an increased luggage compartment of up to 570 litres - thanks to a raised roof line and larger tailgate. The new model will be available with five engines borrowed from the sports saloon, offering up to 550 bhp. The new Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo is set for market launch in October.

VIDEO: Euro NCAP celebrates 20th Anniversary
Euro NCAP is its marking 20th Anniversary with a crash test comparison of two family cars built two decades apart. A 1997 Rover 100 was tested alongside the latest Honda Jazz, displaying a marked difference in crashworthiness. The Rover, with no crumple zones or safety cell seems to just disintegrate while the Honda is clearly stronger and offers multiple air bags against the Rover’s one. Euro NCAP is confident that safety advances driven by rigorous testing have helped deliver a 63% reduction in the number of car occupants killed or seriously injured.

VIDEO: Volkswagen reveals revamped ‘digitalised’ Golf
The Volkswagen Golf has been updated with a focus on digital technology, becoming the first compact car to feature gesture control. Exterior changes are subtle with redesigned bumpers and restyled headlights with LED daytime running lights, while on the inside there’s a completely new generation of infotainment systems. Powertrain revisions include a new 150 PS, 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine plus a power boost for the GTI model up to 245 PS, while a new 7-speed DSG transmission which will gradually replace the old 6-speed box. UK pricing and specification for the new VW Golf has yet to be announced.

VIDEO: Revamped Ford Kuga revealed
Ford has facelifted its Kuga SUV for 2017. Featuring a new grille and restyled headlights with new LED daytime running lights, a performance-inspired ST-Line model will also be available for the first time. Power will come from TDCi diesel and EcoBoost petrol engines - with the 1.5-litre diesel returning 64.2 mpg - while the most powerful petrol unit - a 1.5-litre EcoBoost produces 182PS, sent to all four wheels. New technology features include Ford’s SYNC 3 communications and entertainment system, as well as driver assistance technologies such as Perpendicular Parking and Active City Stop.

VIDEO: SUV showstoppers from Paris
The Paris Motor Show saw plenty of new SUVs as the segment continues to grow. Audi unveiled its new Q5 which has a completely fresh design. 90kg lighter than its predecessor, it features air suspension, revised engines and a focus on connectivity and technology. Meanwhile Peugeot revealed its seven-seat 5008. Available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, a sporty GT model will also be on offer when it goes on sale in Spring, 2017 SsangYong's LIV-2 premium SUV is set for market launch next year as the all-new Rexton. Power will come from either a 2.2-litre diesel engine or a newly developed 2.0-litre petrol turbo. Suzuki flyweight Ignis made its European debut in production-ready form, while no SUV round-up would be complete without Land Rover and in this case, the all-new Discovery.

VIDEO: Audi unveils new A5 and S5 Sportback
Audi has revealed its new, second generation A5 and S5 Sportback. The A5 continues to mix a coupé design with family car functionality but is built on a new platform and now features even more tightly wrought lines. Power comes from a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines with fuel consumption reduced by up to 22 percent. The new flagship S5 is 85kg lighter than its predecessor and features sporty styling additions finished in matt grey. The S5 is powered by a V6 turbo engine with 500Nm of torque for a 0 to 62mph in 4.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 155mph.
VIDEO: Skoda reveals all-new Kodiaq SUV
Skoda has revealed its all-new new Kodiaq SUV. At 4.7m long it becomes Skoda’s first ever seven-seater and features the largest boot in its class. Available in three trim levels, the all-wheel drive Kodiaq is powered by a choice of two diesel and three petrol engines - with the diesel option returning up to 56.5 mpg, while the 2.0-litre petrol unit pumps out 180 PS. These can be mated to either a 6-speed manual or, making its debut in a Skoda, a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Prices have yet to be announced.

VIDEO: MG confirms pricing for the new GS SUV
MG has confirmed pricing for its all-new GS SUV. First seen at the London Motor Show, the entry level ‘Explore’ model comes with cruise control, automatic headlights and air conditioning - and starts just a fiver short of £15-grand. The mid-range ‘Excite’ model costs from £17,495 and adds DAB radio, Bluetooth and rear parking sensors, while the flagship ‘Exclusive’ model is also available with MG’s first 7-speed automatic gearbox, and gets leather sports seats as well as iGo Sat Nav, for £21k OTR.

Mercedes has revealed its new E‑Class estate and the more powerful AMG E 43 4MATIC version. Available with a choice of petrol and diesel engines, the new model features up to 1820 litres of boot space despite its new, sportier roof line. The AMG E 43 features plenty of sporty-styling, runs on 19-inch AMG alloys and is powered by a 3.0-litre V6, mated to 9-speed automatic gearbox for a 0-62mph time of 4.7 seconds on to a limited top speed of 155mph.

VIDEO: MG reveals all new GS SUV in London
MG has pulled the covers off its new SUV - the GS - at the London Motor Show. The British brand’s first SUV will be powered by an 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and will be available in three different trim levels. The range-topping GS will also be available with the option of a DCT gearbox which promises to be more responsive, delivering a smoother ride. Pricing has yet to be confirmed but MG says it will be consistent with its other ‘affordable’ models.

Mercedes has confirmed its new mid-range SUV - the GLC - will be available in the UK. The new model replaces the GLK which was only available in left-hand drive markets and features an all-new design upgraded technology and improved efficiency – with fuel consumption reductions of up to 19 per cent. All models feature 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive while Mercedes is also offering a plug-in hybrid variant for the first time in the segment. Prices for the Mercedes GLC start at £34,950 OTR when is goes on sale later in the year.

Fiat has teamed up with pac-a-mac brand, K-Way for a new Special Series. The Panda K-Way launches with a choice of petrol or Bi-fuel, Methane engines while a 1.3-litre turbodiesel joins the range later. The special Panda features twenty colour combinations and titanium detailing while on the inside the interior is decorated with K-Way's distinctive colours on the personalised seat belts, key cover and the multilayer carpets. Launched in Italy, the special edition Panda K-Way hits European showrooms soon.

BMW has released further details of its next generation 7 Series. The new Saloon features extensive use of carbon-fibre-reinforced plastic borrowed from BMW's i division, increasing rigidity and strength while weighing in 130kg lighter than the outgoing model. New engines and a new eight-speed Steptronic gearbox also feature on the new range-topping 7 Series which also debuts a new remote control parking option and an infotainment system controlled by hand gestures. Pricing and further specification have yet to be announced.

VIDEO: Fiat 500X scores 4 out of 5 Euro NCAP
Fiat's new 500X has scored a 4 out of 5 Euro NCAP Safety Rating. In the side barrier test the 500X scored maximum points, with good protection of all body regions - while in the full-width barrier test, protection of all critical body areas fared well however protection for the rear passenger dummy 's chest was noted as adequate. The bonnet provided a good protection to the head of a struck pedestrian, but poor results were recorded along the edge of the windscreen and pillars.

Order books have opened for a trio of Volkswagen Golf Estates. The Golf R and GTD Estates and the Golf Alltrack have like-for-like trims with their hatchback counterparts but bootspace is increased from 380 litres to up to 1,620 litres with the rear seats folded flat. On the road prices start at £26,790 for the Golf Alltrack, while the Golf GTD Estate comes in at £28,285,and the range-topping Golf R Estate starts from £33,585.

Hyundai has announced the new i20 Coupe will start at £12,725 on the road. Despite its sportier appearance, the i20 Coupe still offers boot space of 336-litres. Available with a choice of two engines - a 1.2-litre 84PS petrol and a 90PS 1.4-litre diesel, the entry-level SE model gets 16-inch alloy wheels as standard along with rear parking sensors and a rear spoiler. Priced at £16,400, the range-topping 1.4 Sport Nav model and features 17” alloys and Hyundai's integrated sat- nav with 7” touchscreen and rear view camera.

Hyundai's all-new Tucson is set to make its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Replacing the ix35, it promises 'high levels of quality, design and technology', combining an SUV profile with the Hyundai signature hexagonal front grille incorporating LED daytime running lights. Powered by a choice of two petrol and three diesel engines, mated to either a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or a six-speed manual, the new Tucson goes on sale later in the year.

VIDEO: BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer to debut in Geneva
BMW has added a new Gran Tourer to its 2 Series range. The big brother to the recently launched 2 Series Active Tourer has more space, with seating for up to seven and luggage capacity of 1,905 litres with the seats folded. An all-wheel drive version will be available from launch, and power comes from a choice of five newly developed turbo engines offering up to 192bhp with the most frugal returning as much as 72.4 mpg. The 2 Series Gran Tourer will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
