The Hyundai IONIQ made its UK debut at the Society of Motor Manufacturers & Traders (SMMT) Test Day.
Motoring journalists and industry experts attending the event held at Millbrook Proving Ground had the chance to get up close to a static pre-production version of the new five-door Hybrid.
The IONIQ is the first vehicle built on a platform that can accommodate three electrified powertrains - Hybrid, Electric and Plug-in.
The Hybrid and Plug-in versions both feature the new Kappa 1.6 GDI, direct injection petrol, four-cylinder engine delivering 105 PS and 147 Nm of torque, while the Electric model is powered by a 28 kWh lithium-ion polymer battery for an estimated range of over 250 km.
The Hyundai IONIQ is set to go on sale in the UK in October.
Prices have yet to be announced.
