British tennis ace and Peugeot UK Ambassador Jamie Murray handed over the keys to a fleet of 208 hatchbacks to the Lawn Tennis Association.
The cars were delivered in preparation for a new Tennis initiative that will promote participation in the sport over the coming months. The handover by the doubles champion took place at the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA) in Roehampton, south west London, where Murray gave the keys to the cars to Michael Downey, CEO of the LTA.
The main purpose of the LTA is to enrich lives through tennis and its mission is to get more people playing more often. To help this become a reality, Peugeot has offered the 208s for promotional engagements before they are claimed as competition prizes.
All new members of British Tennis and fans purchasing ‘Early Bird’ tickets to attend major events on the 2018 calendar will be entered into a prize draw to win one of the cars as Peugeot helps the LTA drive towards increasing tennis participation in the UK.
The high spec models that will be heading to new owners this summer all feature the new i-Cockpit, with a compact steering wheel for an intense dynamic feel, head-up instrument panel so that you can read information without taking your eyes off the road and a large touch-screen for intuitive driving.
David Peel, Managing Director at Peugeot UK commented: “We’re proud to continue driving forward participation and enjoyment through British tennis. It’s fantastic to see stars of the sport like Jamie Murray getting involved as we join the Lawn Tennis Association in reaching out to the public and showcasing the sport from the grassroots to the game’s highest level.”
Michael Downey, CEO of the Lawn Tennis Association added: “We are delighted to be furthering our partnership with Peugeot and we are pleased to receive this fantastic fleet of Peugeot 208s from Jamie Murray, ambassador for Peugeot UK and our new British Tennis Membership programme.
“The fleet of Peugeot 208s is going to service our grass court tournaments with style and they will add great promotional value to our new British Tennis Membership programme and our world leading National Coaches Conference in July.”
