VIDEO: Idris Elba on Jaguar XE Euro road trip

Jaguar has loaned actor and self-confessed petrolhead, Idris Elba, a brand new XE for a 750 mile road trip from London to Berlin. It's part of a new mini-series documenting his journey to the German launch of Jaguar's new sports saloon. Elba will be testing the XE's fuel economy credentials, but he’s already diverted to Belgium's Spa Circuit to see what its 340PS can do round the track, with the help of former F1 driver Martin Brundle. Prices for the new Jaguar XE range will begin at £27,000 OTR.

VIDEO: BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer to debut in Geneva

BMW has added a new Gran Tourer to its 2 Series range. The big brother to the recently launched 2 Series Active Tourer has more space, with seating for up to seven and luggage capacity of 1,905 litres with the seats folded. An all-wheel drive version will be available from launch, and power comes from a choice of five newly developed turbo engines offering up to 192bhp with the most frugal returning as much as 72.4 mpg. The 2 Series Gran Tourer will make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show.

VIDEO: Nissan LEAF gets glow-in-the-dark paint

Nissan has applied special glow-in-the-dark paint to an all-electric LEAF. The spray-applied coating – which absorbs UV energy during the day so that it glows for up 10 hours when the sun goes down – was invented by Hamish Scott, creator of the STARPATH glow-in-the-dark pathway. Using a secret formula made up of entirely organic materials, Nissan says the LEAF's unique paint-job would last for 25 years if made commercially available.

VIDEO: Kia Trail'ster concept to debut in Chicago

Kia has reveal its Trail'ster e-AWD concept at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show. The Soul EV-based show car features a bold design with a fully retractable canvas roof and LED lighting. Powered by a 188 PS 1.6-litre turbocharged engine, an electric motor is housed on the rear axle offering the option of all-wheel drive for enhanced launch acceleration, improved off-road traction and electric-only low speed driving.

VIDEO: New Vauxhall Viva to debut in Geneva

The brand new Vauxhall Viva will make its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show. Seen here badged as the Opel Karl – as it will be sold in mainland Europe – Vauxhall's new entry-level, five-door hatchback will be powered by a specially-developed 75PS 1.0-litre ECOTEC engine. Available with a choice of 14- to 16-inch wheels and an IntelliLink connectivity system enabling smartphone integration, the new Vauxhall Viva is set to hit showrooms later in the Spring.

VIDEO: Jaguar Land Rover to star in new James Bond movie

Jaguar Land Rover will once again supply the 007 franchise with vehicles for the latest Bond adventure, SPECTRE. The Jaguar C-X75 concept will be joined by a beefy Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Defender Big Foot in the new movie. The Big Foots were constructed by the Special Ops department, with huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres, while the C-X75 will feature in a spectacular car chase through Rome alongside the new Aston Martin DB10.

VIDEO: Lewis Hamilton tests new Mercedes W06

Lewis Hamilton is looking forward to the 2015 Formula1 season in his new Mercedes W06. Hamilton said: “What's exciting is the new car, to get in and see what are the strengths and weaknesses of it, how can you translate that feeling you have to the guys, so I'm massively excited about that part". Meanwhile Jenson Button is optimistic about his chances behind the wheel of the new McLaren MP4-30, which marks the start of a new engine partnership with Honda.

VIDEO: Ford reveals all-new Focus RS

Ford has previewed its all-new high-performance Focus RS – with Ken Block behind the wheel. Powered by an upgraded version of the new Mustang's 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine, it pumps out in excess of 320PS. The hot hatch also features sports suspension, Dynamic Torque Vectoring and All-Wheel-Drive. Running on 19-inch alloy wheels the RS has been aerodynamically optimised for zero lift and high-speed handling. Further details will be announced later this year.

VIDEO: Porsche unveils Cayman GT4

Porsche has added a high-performance GT4 model to its Cayman range. The first GT model to be based on the two-seater is powered by a 385 bhp 3.8-litre, flat-six engine derived from the 911 Carrera S - delivering a 0 to 62 time of 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 183 mph. It has been lowered by 30 mm and features an uprated braking system and a chassis enhanced with components borrowed from the 911 GT3. The new Cayman GT4 is on sale in the UK now, priced from £64,451 on the road.

VIDEO: Return to rallying for Toyota with Yaris WRC

Toyota is to return to the FIA World Rally Championship in 2017 - 18 years after its last competitive outing. A Yaris WRC, in racing livery, has been unveiled, signalling a comeback for the team which claimed four drivers’ and three manufacturers’ titles in the 1990s. The new car is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing more than 300bhp and features a chassis developed using advanced simulation, testing and production techniques.

VIDEO: New Ferrari 488 GTB revealed

Ferrari has unveiled its new 488 GTB. The supercar brings 'track-level performance and responsiveness for the road' says the Italian brand, and is powered by a new 3.9-litre V8 turbo engine for a 0-124 mph time of 8.3 seconds and 760 Nm of maximum torque. Several design elements have helped achieve a record aerodynamic efficiency figure for a production Ferrari, including the double front spoiler, side intakes and active aerodynamics coupled with a 'blown' spoiler at the rear. The Ferrari 488 GTB will be unveiled at the Geneva Motor show.

VIDEO: Dynamo stunt launches new Fiat 500X

Magician Dynamo launched the new Fiat 500X last night with his 'The Power of X' show at the Copper Box Arena in London's Olympic Park. Three years in the making, the illusion saw Dynamo generate a 3 dimensional blueprint of the car and then 'miraculously' transform it – in the blink of an eye – into the real thing, in front of a live audience of over 1,000 invited guests. Order books have now opened for the new Fiat 500X which arrives in showrooms this April, with prices starting at £14,595 on the road.

VIDEO: Infiniti confirms Q70 pricing and specification

Infiniti has confirmed its new Q70 saloon range will start at £32,650 on the road. The entry-level model includes full LED headlights, 18-inch alloy wheels and leather upholstery as standard while power comes from a 170PS, 2.2-litre diesel engine which replaces the 3.0-litre V6 diesel offered previously on the Premium trim. A 3.7-litre V6 petrol-powered version is also available, as well as the flagship Hybrid – priced at £46,600 on the road –which boasts a 0-62 time of 5.3 seconds and CO2 emissions of 145g/km.

VIDEO: MINI exhibition launches at BMW museum in Munich

BMW has opened a new Mini-themed exhibition at its museum in Munich. ‘The Mini Story’ spans the history of the much-loved little car, including some rather wacky variations along the way. The exhibition - which runs until January 2016 – covers everything from the 1959 Issigonis-designed original through to the 2001 reincarnation and finishes up with the modern day MINI and a few recent concepts, including a stretched limo and 2010's MINI Beachcomber.

VIDEO: BMW i3 to make US debut during Super Bowl

The BMW i3 will make its US debut during Super Bowl 49 in a 60-second TV commercial. The ad - entitled 'Newfangled Idea' - will air during the first quarter of the season-defining match on February 1 and features renowned US TV anchors Katie Couric and Bryant Gumbel spoofing their own TV blunder from 1994 when they failed to grasp the Internet. This time the duo struggle with the ‘newfangled idea’ of the all-electric i3 – which is already on sale in the UK, priced from £25,680 including the £5,000 Government grant.

VIDEO: Honda CR-V facelifted for 2015

Honda has revamped its CR-V for 2015. A restyled front end features HID projector headlamps with LED daytime running lights which flow into a new grille. The 2.2-litre diesel engine has been replaced by a new 160 PS 1.6-litre unit which can be mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The SUV’s interior has also been revised and features new technology such as Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control which automatically reacts to other vehicles ‘cutting-in’. Prices for the new-look Honda CR-V have yet to be announced.

VIDEO: Mercedes adds Plug-In Hybrid drive to C-Class

Mercedes has added hybrid technology to the C-Class range. The C350 Plug-In Hybrid, unveiled in Detroit, is powered by a four-cylinder petrol engine in conjunction with an electric motor, for a total system output of 279 bhp and 600 Nm of torque. With a 0-62 mph time of 5.9 seconds, Mercedes says the new C-Class Hybrid delivers sportscar-like performance, despite returning fuel consumption of 134mpg and CO2 emissions as low as 48 g/km. It can also cover a distance of 19 miles in emission-free, electric-only mode.

VIDEO: Ford Mustang officially on sale in the UK at last

The all-new Ford Mustang has officially gone on sale in the UK for the first time. Fastback or convertible versions are available, powered by either a 314PS 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine or a 418PS 5.0-litre V8 unit – mated to a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The 2015 Mustang is fitted with 19-inch wheels, performance brakes and a rear diffuser as standard and is available to order now from new inner city 'FordStores'. Prices start from £28,995 on the road, rising to £38,495 for the range-topping V8 Convertible.

VIDEO: Bentley Continental GT V8 S set for Goodwood debut

The new Bentley Continental GT V8 S will make its Goodwood Festival of Speed debut in the Supercar paddock this summer. Faster and more responsive with a 0-60 time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed of 192 mph, the crowds will be treated to the twin-turbo 4-litre V8's full throttle soundtrack twice daily during the Supercar runs. The GT is to be joined on the hill by a car known as 'Old Number 1'. The Speed Six Bentley, which won Le Mans in 1929 and 1930, will be reunited with vintage team-mates 'Old Number 2' and 'Old Number 3'.

VIDEO: All-new Kia Soul on sale

Kia's all-new, second-generation Soul is now on sale. The compact SUV crossover offers more space in its revitalised cabin, says Kia, as well as enhanced safety and sharper driving dynamics thanks to a new chassis based on the Kia cee'd's. The new Soul is available with either a 1.6-litre petrol or turbodiesel engine - the latter returning over 56 miles per gallon on the combined cycle - while an all-electric model joins the line-up later this year. Prices start from £12,600 on the road.
