UK debut for Renault Scenic at London’s Clerkenwell Design Week
Renault has shown its all-new Scenic in the UK for the first time.
It comes as part of Renault role as official sponsor of the Clerkenwell Design Week where the French brand also has a stand in Spa Fields Park.
Known as the ‘Design Fields’, the park will showcase leading furniture, lighting and product design from around the world. Renault’s stand also features the EOLAB design prototype from 2014 – an eco vehicle capable of 282mpg whilst emitting only 22g/km of CO2 - as well as the R-Space concept car which was the basis for the new production Scenic.
The 5-seater Scenic MPV features a design that ‘breaks away from conventional MPV cues’ says Renault, with unprecedented proportions, 20-inch wheels across the range and a two-tone colour scheme.
A more modular interior includes a sliding centre console and an automatic One Touch Folding system for the rear seats. A suite of driving aids including AEBS (Automatic Emergency Braking System) is joined by Pedestrian Detection as standard for all versions along with MULTI-SENSE technology and an R-LINK 2 touchscreen with an 8.7-inch display and a colour heads-up display.
A range of petrol and diesel engines, as well as Renault’s Hybrid Assist diesel-electric powertrain will be available when the new Scenic and Grand Scenic go on sale before the end of the year.
The Clerkenwell Design Week runs from 24-26 May.
