Peugeot to top 3008 range with GT model
Peugeot has added a flagship GT version to its new 3008 SUV range.
The French brand says it responded to a growing demand for ‘well-specified, top-spec vehicles with high equipment levels, great performance and efficiency, and desirable capabilities’.
The new GT sits above the Active and Allure models, and is also joined by a new ‘GT Line’ - which combines engine efficiency with sports styling.
The GT model is positioned at the top-of-the-range is aimed at 'driving enthusiasts craving sophistication’, says Peugeot. Styling wise, the 3008 GT features an exclusive sporty grille surrounded by ‘Sanded Chrome’ (other versions are chrome). The overall effect is rounded off by the exclusive bumper design, with more prominent features, combined with the full LED headlights that are more efficient and reduce driver eye fatigue.
The ‘Coupe Franche’ dual colour paint design, reserved for GT and GT Line versions can also be specified. Teamed with Nera Black paint at the rear, customers have the choice of three different paint colours.
At the rear, in addition to the ‘GT Line’ or ‘GT’ badging on the tailgate, double chrome exhaust pipes are located either side of the bumper. These stylistic elements are integrated, giving an 'air of chic and elegant sportiness'. GT versions feature widened wheel arches, 19-inch ‘Boston’ matt Haria two-tone finish diamond-cut alloy wheels, aluminium roof bars, chrome door mirror shells and copper GT monogram badging on the front wings. GT models also include a smart electric operated tailgate with a foot-movement operation system, allowing the tailgate to be operated while the operatives hands are full (with keys on the person).
The GT Line version comes with a choice of BlueHDi diesel, PureTech and e-THP petrol engines, Full LED headlamps including sequential scrolling LED front indicators, Smartphone charging plate and 3D satellite navigation including 3 year subscription to TomTom Live updates.
The GT model is powered by the 2.0-litre BlueHDi 180 S&S, mated to the EAT6 (Efficient Automatic Transmission) six-speed gearbox - the most powerful version in the range, ‘providing a more intense driving experience’.
Safety Plus Pack includes the ‘Active Blind Spot Detection’ (ABSD), ‘Lane Keeping Assistance’ (LKA), advanced ‘Driver Attention Alert’ system (DAA3) and Peugeot ‘Smartbeam Assistance’.
Peugeot describes the seating as ‘sumptuous’, trimmed in full grain Nappa Mistral leather with Aikinite copper double-stitch trim detail, it comes with driver seat multipoint massage function, electric adjustment and memory. The GT model also has a panoramic opening glass roof with electric interior blind and blue ambient lighting.
The new digital Peugeot i-Cockpit is a standard on all 3008 SUVs features an advanced dashboard with a configurable 12.3” digital instrument panel with virtual dials and a 8.0” capacitive touch screen. A compact steering wheel - which sports the GT logo in chromed steel on the lower flat section - is covered with full-grain leather.
The interior continues the fine Aikinite copper double-topstitching on the dashboard trim, door trim panels and the centre armrest. The copper theme continues on the steering wheel, floor mats, gear lever gaiter and also as the colour of the virtual dials.
