New diesel engine for 2017 Range Rover Sport
Land Rover has revamped the Range Rover Sport for the 2017 Model Year adding a new diesel powertrain, an upgraded infotainment system and new semi-autonomous driving technologies.
The new Range Rover Sport will feature the new 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine which is already available on both the Discovery Sport and Range Rover Evoque models.
Manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s own engine plant in Wolverhampton, the Ingenium engine is estimated to deliver combined fuel consumption of 45.6mpg with CO2 emissions of 164g/km, whilst achieving a 0-60mph time of 8.0 seconds.
UK customers will also have the option of a 3.0-litre V6 supercharged petrol engine which pumps out 340HP and 450Nm of torque to deliver a 0-60mph time of 7.1s while emitting 243g/km of CO2.
A series of new semi-autonomous driving technologies including Advanced Tow Assist, Blind Spot Assist and Intelligent Speed Limiter will work alongside existing features to enhance convenience and safety while the addition of Low Traction Launch makes it easier for drivers to pull away on low-grip surfaces.
An enlarged dual-view touchscreen features a new 10-inch display for greater ease-of-use and clarity and features tablet-style pinch and zoom orientation.
Jeremy Hicks, Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover UK, said: “Our customers love Range Rover Sport and for 17 Model Year it gets even better. It’s brimming with exciting technology for even better on and off-road driving; it has next-generation infotainment and advanced safety features as standard, better economy and running costs, and all for under £60,000.”
Available with a wider choice of colours and enhanced exterior design for Dynamic versions, the 2017 Range Rover Sport will go on sale in the winter, with prices starting from £59,700 for the 2.0-litre SD4 HSE.
