Mercedes facelifts GLA for 2017
The GLA from Mercedes now has an extended range of engines, an updated interior and exterior design plus updated equipment lines.
Modified bumpers, new light-alloy wheels and the addition of a new colour - Canyon Beige - are just some of the enhancements. The previous optional bi-xenon headlamps have been replaced by LED headlights.
The interior has been enhanced with new seat covers and trim parts, plus chromed control panels, chrome-framed centre console and new dials with red needles.
The AMG GLA 45 4MATIC has received aerodynamic tweaks such as the restyled front apron and lip on the roof spoiler, increasing driving dynamics and stability, while wind resistance has also been reduced. The AMG model has a ‘sharpened’ front section with the front apron, air intake grilles, and front splitter all updated. The twin louvre on the AMG Twin Blade radiator grille are now finished in silver chrome, as are the inserts in the side sill panels.
As an additional option, a multi-spoke 20-inch light-alloy wheel is available in two colour variants: painted matt black with high-sheen rim or painted titanium grey with a high-sheen finish. At the rear, a new diffuser in the rear apron features silver chrome detailing.
The range-topping AMG GLA 45 4MATIC will also be offered in a special Yellow Night Edition. The special model is finished in night black or cosmos black with matt graphite grey and yellow detailing. Light-alloy wheels are available in matt black with yellow rims with a black painted AMG twin louvre in the radiator grille.
Revealed at the 2017 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, the UK facelifted model will be available with three petrol and three diesel units - from the GLA 200, GLA 250 4MATIC, and the flagship Mercedes-AMG GLA 45 4MATIC, to diesel models - the GLA 200d, GLA 200d 4MATIC and the GLA 220d 4MATIC.
UK pricing has yet to be confirmed.
