Maserati chauffeurs stars to Mert & Marcus Exhibition
Celebrated fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot launched their first solo exhibition in Europe, with a little help from Maserati.
The Italian luxury brand was on hand to chauffeur celebrities and VIPs to a cocktail party on the opening night of 'Mert & Marcus: Works 2001-2014’. Held at PHILLIPS’ London headquarters in Berkeley Square, Mayfair, celebrity guests included Madonna, Kate Moss, Lara Stone, Irina Shayk, Mollie King and more, all of whom arrived on board a fleet of luxury Maserati Quattroportes and Ghiblis.
The exhibition runs until November 3 and marks the 20th anniversary of the photographic duo, as well as offering a unique chance to purchase one of 18 iconic works made available for sale for the first time.
The pair met in London in 1994 amid the 90s London club scene. Their shared love of art and photography quickly evolved into a working partnership. Their first success came in 1997 when they landed the cover of Dazed & Confused, since then, their images have been featured globally in magazines as well as leading advertising campaigns for Calvin Klein, Christian Dior, Givenchy, Giorgio Armani, Gucci, Lancôme, Louis Vuitton, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent.
Their work has been exhibited internationally, including the V&A, the National Portrait Gallery and the New York Public Library.
