New Citroën C3 to start from £11k
Citroën has confirmed prices for its new C3 will start at £10,995 OTR for the entry-level Touch model.
Available in three trim levels, the new C3 is described as highly customisable with 3 roof colours and 9 body colours to choose from, as well as a total of 36 exterior colour combinations. The deliberately high bonnet line and 'purposeful' wheel arch extensions give the new model a ‘crossover character’, one which is joined by the optional Airbump panels borrowed from the C4 Cactus, which guard against everyday dents and scrapes.
The mid-tier trim level, ‘Feel’ starts at £13,045 OTR while the ‘Flair’ starts at £14,795 OTR. The range-topping Flair BlueHDi 100 S&S manual costs £17,095 OTR.
On the inside, a panoramic glass sunroof fills the car with natural light. The cabin now has 22mm more rear legroom than the previous model, and a 300-litre boot. A 7-inch colour touchscreen in the middle of the dashboard provides ‘intuitive access’ to all of the main vehicle controls, including the CitroënConnect Nav. This latest-generation navigation system is both touch and voice activated.
Citroën's ConnectedCAM technology makes its first appearance in the new C3 which features a wide-angle HD camera (positioned just behind the rear-view mirror), GPS technology and a 128GB memory. It has two main functions; to safely take photos or videos that can be instantly shared via social media using a free app, or to operate as a conventional dashcam in the event of an on-road incident.
MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and a reversing camera with hill-start assist joins safety technologies such as a lane departure warning system, blind-spot monitoring and a driver attention alert.
Power comes from PureTech petrol and BlueHDi Diesel engines. There is a choice of three PureTech three-cylinder petrol engines: PureTech 68, 82 and 110 (Stop & Start), and two Diesel powertrains: BlueHDi 75 (Stop & Start) and 100 (Stop & Start).
The new Citroën C3 officially goes on sale 3 January 2017.
